Gymshark Sleek Aspire Leggings Review

Let’s talk leggings.

I’m quite fussy when it comes to finding the right pair of gym leggings, I have a few set criteria:
– Comfy without making me too hot.
– A good fit.
– Make me feel confident.

I have to say, these leggings tick all of those boxes.

I usually wear shorts to the gym, but when I saw Gymshark were releasing a new style of legging I couldn’t resist and had to get a pair of the Sleek Aspire leggings!

These leggings have a design which is becoming popular amongst a lot of gym wear – mesh panelling. With these the panelling is almost all the way down the leg, with another panel at the back and I am in love with it.

The material of these leggings is the one thing I can’t get over. It’s so soft and comfortable, unlike any other leggings I’ve had previously and the fit of them is great. It’s really complimentary, hides what it needs to (you know what I mean) and doesn’t give you the dreaded camel toe! They’re somewhere in between a mid-rise and a hi-rise fit, although for me they’re more mid-rise due to the size of my booty.

I’m around 5 foot 10 inches tall, between 32 and 34 inch leg, so I always struggle to find leggings that don’t end up way too short. But these are the ideal length. They are the full version rather than the cropped and finish below my ankle so I don’t feel huge wearing them!

I usually wear a UK size 10-12 in trousers and went for a large in these. I found that the medium was a bit too tight around my bum and they went a bit see-through when I squat! But I’ve done a few test squats in these and they are most definitely squat-proof when you get the right size – a huge must have if you’re a weight lifter like me who wants to keep their dignity intact.

The last thing I love about these leggings are the pockets on the side. They’re the perfect size for your phone, I always struggle with where to leave it whilst I’m at the gym but with these I don’t have to. The best part about the pocket is that when my phone is in there it doesn’t obstruct any of my lifting such as squats and deadlifts, it’s perfectly positioned.

The only drawback with these, as most people experience with Gymshark is the price. But for these I’d happily pay that again and I have no doubt that I will once they’ve released more colours! Although they seem expensive for what they are, they last a heck of a long time if you treat them correctly.

So, there you have it, a review of my (now) favourite leggings. I hope you guys have found this review useful, let me know in the comments if you’ve tried these and what you thought of them!
